Carol Q. Pham, Ph.D., focuses on patent prosecution and litigation support for San Diego IP Law Group, and serves as scientific advisor in intellectual property litigation matters and business development in biotechnologies and life sciences. Prior to joining the firm, Carol worked with the Invention Transfer Group at UCI Applied Innovation, the technology transfer office of the University of California at Irvine. Through this experience, her depth of knowledge has grown to include marketability and patentability analyses, licensing due diligence, and infringement analyses in technologies related to molecular and cell biology; neuroscience; immunology; genetics; pharmacology; chemistry; biomedical engineering; clean energy; diagnostics; therapeutics; and medical devices. Carol earned a B.A. in molecular and cell biology emphasis in neurobiology and a minor in music from the University of California at Berkeley, where she also conducted auditory research at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute. Prior to graduate school, Carol led a neurodevelopment project at the University of Southern California’s Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute. Carol received a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences emphasis in neuroscience from the University of California at Irvine. She was awarded multiple National of Institutes of Health-funded fellowships and invited to present at several international conferences.
